Abstract
A three year evaluation under nine experiments with BAU-GPC released fruit varieties viz. BAU Aam, BAU Peyara, BAU Kul, BAU Lemon, BAU Jamrul, BAU Kamranga, BAU Amloki, BAU Sapota and BAU Malta were conducted at four locations namely Palashbari of Gaibandha, Sader of Gaibandha, Pirgonj of Rangpur and BAU-GPC Mymensingh during July, 2009 to June, 2013 to find out the performance of these varieties. The experiments were laid out in RCBD with three replications. The tallest plant height (1.70m) was found from BAU Aam-6. Maximum no. of fruits (12.46/plant) and the highest fruit yield (3.92 kg/plant) were obtained from BAU Aam-1 and the shortest plant (1.51m) was found from BAUAam-5, minimum no. of fruits (7.07/plant), the lowest fruit yield (2.34 kg/plant) were found from BAUAam-6 at 36 months after planting (MAP). The tallest plant height (1.70m), maximum no. of fruits (13.20/plant), the highest fruit yield (3.64 kg/plant) were obtained from Palashbari, Gaibandha and the shortest plant (1.57m), minimum no. of fruits (6.36/plant), the lowest yield (1.67kg/plant) were recorded from Pirgonj, Rangpur. BAUAam-1 grown under Palashbari condition produced maximum no. of fruits (18.14/plant), the highest yield (3.92 kg/plant), minimum no. of fruits (6.37/plant), the lowest yield (1.73 kg./plant) at 36 MAP were found from BAUAam-6 grown under Pirgonj, Rangpur. The tallest plant height (4.07m) was found from BAU Peyara-3 and the highest yield (13.32 kg/plant) were recorded from BAU Peyara-5 and the lowest yield (11.58 kg/plant) was found from BAU Peyara-1 at 36 MAP. The tallest plant height (3.51m) and yield (15.24 kg/plant) were obtained at Palashbari and the shortest plant (3.13m), the lowest yield (9.81 kg/plant) were found at Pirgonj, Rangpur. BAU Peyara-3 grown under Palashbari condition produced the tallest plant height (4.35m) and BAU Peyara-5 grown under same location showed the shortest plant (2.67m) the yield (17.44 kg/plant) at 36 MAP. The tallest plant height (1.76m), the highest yield (16.91kg/plant) were obtained from BAU Kul-2 and the shortest plant (1.65m), the lowest yield (13.08 kg/plant) were found from BAU Kul-1. The tallest plant height (1.85m), yield (19.21 kg/plant) were found at Palashbari and the shortest plant (1.60m), the lowest yield (11.27 kg/plant) were obtained at Pirgonj, Rangpur. BAU Kul-2 grown under Palashbari condition produced the tallest plant height (1.89m), the highest yield (21.23 kg/plant) while BAU Kul-1 grown under Pirgonj condition observed the shortest plant (1.54m), the lowest yield (9.41 kg/plant) at 36 MAP. BAU Lemon-3 produced the tallest plant height (1.61m) and the shortest plant (1.03m) was observed from BAU Lemon-1. The tallest plant height (1.37m), maximum no. of fruits (36.71/plant) were obtained at Palashbari, and the shortest plant (1.26m), minimum no. of fruits (20.67/plant) were obtained at Pirgonj, Rangpur. BAU Lemon-3 grown under Palashbari condition showed the tallest plant height (1.67m), maximum no. of fruits (44.41/plant) and BAU Lemon-1 grown under Pirgonj condition showed the shortest plant (0.98m), minimum no. of fruits (14.47/plant). The tallest plant height (1.52m), the lowest yield (1.58 kg/plant) were found from BAU Jamrul-1 and the shortest plant (1.42m), the highest yield (1.90 kg/plant) were observed from BAU Jamrul-1 at 36 MAP. The tallest plant height (1.57m), the highest yield (2.20 kg/plant) were found at Palashbari and shortest plant (1.42m), the lowest yield (1.30 kg/plant) were observed at Pirgonj, Rangpur. Jamrul-2 grown under Palashbari condition observed the tallest plant height (1.52m), maximum no. of fruits (30.83/plant), the highest yield (2.41 kg/plant) and the same variety grown under Pirgonj showed the shortest plant (1.37m), minimum no. of fruits (19.00/plant) and the lowest yield (1.34 kg/plant) at 36 MAP. In experiment six to nine, BAU Amloki-1, BAU Kamranga- 1, BAU Sapota-1 and BAU Malta-1 also showed the better growth and higher production grown under Palashbari, Gaibandha condition among other locations. From the above investigation, it was found that BAU-GPC released BAU Aam-1, BAU Peyara-5, BAU Kul-2, BAU Lemon-3 and BAU Jamrul-2 were most productive under Palashbari, Gaibandha condition than other locations.
